This is an archive of the Treatment Action Campaign's public documents from December 1998 until October 2008. I created this website because the TAC's website appears unmaintained and people were concerned that it
was becoming increasingly hard to find important documents.

The menu items have been slightly edited and a new stylesheet applied to the site. But none of the documents have been edited, not even for minor errors. The text appears on this site as obtained from the Internet Archive.

The period covered by the archive encompassed the campaign for HIV medicines, the civil disobedience campaigns, the Competition Commission complaints, the 2008 xenophobic violence and the PMTCT, Khayelitsha health workers and Matthias Rath court cases.

Treatment Action Campaign Public License (TACPL)

All works produced by Treatment Action Campaign are protected by copyright law.

For the purposes of this license "The Work" means any public information materials produced by the Treatment Action Campaign that designate they are distributed under the terms of the TACPL. All other materials published by the Treatment Action Campaign are not available under this license and are subject to normal copyright law.

You are free to copy, display, perform, or in any other way re-distribute The Work to the public, in the medium of your choice, provided the following conditions are met:

• You must attribute the Treatment Action Campaign as the source of The Work. You may not re-license, sub-license, or impose any restrictions on the recipients of The Work that are inconsistent with this license.

• You may not charge any amount for copies of The Work other than for the actual cost of transfer and/or physical reproduction. The Work may not be incorporated as part of a for-profit publication without permission from the Treatment Action Campaign.

• You are free to modify and re-distribute The Work with those modifications subject to the following conditions:

• • You must acknowledge the Treatment Action Campaign's contribution to the modified work;

  • You must make clear that the Treatment Action Campaign bears no responsibility for the quality, accuracy, tone, or style of the modified work;

  • You may not use this work as part of a product that promotes pseudoscientific views on AIDS. i.e. The Work may not be associated with any product that implies that HIV is not the cause of AIDS or that the risks of antiretrovirals outweigh their benefits.

If there is a dispute regarding whether scientific consensus exists, the position of the Treatment Action Campaign is controlling.

• This license covers only those materials for which the Treatment Action Campaign owns the copyright. Many Treatment Action Campaign publications include material copyrighted by a third party. The copyright holder is usually credited in these cases. Unfortunately, the Treatment Action Campaign cannot authorize reproduction of third party materials. To reproduce those materials you must ask permission from the original copyright holder.
