The report was commissioned by the department, and contains alarming, yet conservative, predictions regarding the progression of the epidemic if the status quo is maintained. Over 3 million South Africans will die of AIDS by 2010, if nothing is done. Yet the government has no plan and, based on the minister of health's speech in parliament on Tuesday, has no intention of coming to terms with the seriousness of this epidemic. The report also recommends mtctp, making it the second government commissioned report to do so, yet the programme continues to be implemented on a scale which will only reach 10% of pregnant women. Even this small programme continues to be delayed. TAC has obtained a slideshow presentation on the report. It is available from: http://www.tac.org.za/hensher.ppt We do not, however, have the report itself and urge the government to release it immediately. * Dr. Beth Harley produced a document called "HIV/AIDS Primary Care Clinical Guidelines Cape Metropolitan Area" in 1999. It is available from: http://www.tac.org.za/bhaidsgd.doc * The TAC constitution is available from: http://www.tac.org.za/tacconst.rtf * Virtually all the documentation from the court case is now available on the TAC website: http://www.tac.org.za/archive.htm * The Documents webpage on the TAC site has been revamped. It contains many useful articles, pamphlets, guides, newsletters and archived documents.
