This is an archive of the Treatment Action Campaign's public documents from
December 1998 until October 2008. I created this website because the TAC's
website appears unmaintained and people were concerned that it
was becoming
increasingly hard to find important documents.
The menu items have
been slightly edited and a new stylesheet applied to the site. But none of the
documents have been edited, not even for minor errors. The text appears on this
site as obtained from the Internet Archive.
The period covered by
the archive encompassed the campaign for HIV medicines, the civil disobedience
campaigns, the Competition Commission complaints, the 2008 xenophobic violence
and the PMTCT, Khayelitsha health workers and Matthias Rath court cases.

Re: Drug Company Shareholders The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) form number 13F reports provide equity holding information for institutional investors. Insiders are also required to disclose in annual 10K reports for specific companies. This could provide a database of influential investors/persons who probably know nothing about TAC/TP. All this information can be accessed at www.edgar-online.com.

I am an Irish citizen who will be working in Cape Town next January for three months on a social work placement. It is wonderful to read about the continuing success of the TAC programme. Long may it continue. Shane.

I'm in the U.S. and I was wondering what efforts exist on this end to pressure the pharmacutical companies to change their approach? I think a mass letter-writing campaign to the shareholders of the key drug companies could be very influential. I'm sure that there are organizations somewhere doing this. Does anyone know who they are?

To Zachie and all the other activists who are dealing with this deadly issue... Thank You, thank you, thank you! Ive been following you ever since i saw the documentary on TAC. I feel AIDS is our biggest threat as a nation and as a world. I just wish the same effort that went into war went into saving lives! peace and love P - NY City (born and bred South African and proud of it!)

Wow-perhaps I am the first "outsider" to see this site, or at least to sign the guestbook. I'm incredibly impressed and amazed at TAC and the TAC Treatment Project. As a student who's studying both Psychology and Public Health, AND a person who is HIV+, I've been looking for just such an organization to devote some energy to. My best wishes!
