This is an archive of the Treatment Action Campaign's public documents from
December 1998 until October 2008. I created this website because the TAC's
website appears unmaintained and people were concerned that it
was becoming
increasingly hard to find important documents.
The menu items have
been slightly edited and a new stylesheet applied to the site. But none of the
documents have been edited, not even for minor errors. The text appears on this
site as obtained from the Internet Archive.
The period covered by
the archive encompassed the campaign for HIV medicines, the civil disobedience
campaigns, the Competition Commission complaints, the 2008 xenophobic violence
and the PMTCT, Khayelitsha health workers and Matthias Rath court cases.
All materials on the website that have been written and produced by TAC may be reproduced and distributed under the terms of the TAC Public License, which is similar to most open source documentation licenses except that it contains restrictions to prevent misuse by pseudo-scientists.
Please note, however, that some documents have not been produced by TAC and this notice does not apply to them.
There are over 1,000 documents on the TAC website and new ones are added frequently. No categorisation will suit everyone, but if you have a suggestion for how we should categorise a particular document or set of documents, please email us at .
Unfortunately, not all documents on the site can be accessed from this page. Doing so would require an enormous amount of work. TAC's statements and newsletters are under the Newsletters option on the side menu. Researchers should definitely consult the newsletters to find all relevant documentation. The newsletters are chronologically arranged.
The TAC website is searchable using google (click Search on the side menu). Results returned by google are generally good.
